OECD and ILO to launch Global Deal report on need for social dialogue

 

19 October 2020 - It is crucial that employers, workers and governments maintain effective social dialogue during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to protect livelihoods, stem rising inequality and help reinforce economic activity for the future, according to a new report from the Global Deal partnership.

 

The new Global Deal flagship report Social Dialogue, Skills and COVID-19, will be launched and its findings discussed at a virtual event from 14.00 to 15.30 (CET) on Tuesday 20 October 2020. Among the speakers will be OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría, ILO Director-General Guy Ryder and Sweden’s Trade and Nordic Affairs Minister Anna Hallberg.

 

Other speakers include: Boitumelo Moloi, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, South Africa; Sharan Burrow, General Secretary, International Trade Union Confederation; Sanna Lindgren, Director of Culture and Communications, Lindex; and José María Vera, Interim Executive Director, Oxfam International.
