Global Deal Webinar: Overcoming barriers to social dialogue in global supply chains - 18 May 2021

The Global Deal is organising a webinar series that will be held throughout May and June, examining how social dialogue can be used as a tool to deal with challenges in global supply chains, promote a gender-responsive recovery and contribute to due diligence.

The first webinar “Overcoming barriers to social dialogue in global supply chains” took place on 18 May 2021 at 14:30-16:00 (CET). In a global economy characterised by complex and highly competitive supply chains, social dialogue can be difficult to achieve. Yet it offers an opportunity to find “win-win-win” solutions by helping to deliver better working conditions, inclusive growth, stable industrial relations and shared approaches. This webinar identified obstacles to social dialogue and practical ways of overcoming these challenges, and presented findings from a collaboration between Global Deal partner Fair Wear Foundation and Cornell University’s New Conversations Project on “Social Dialogue in the 21th Century”.
