News release: The Social and Economic Council of the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao joins the Global Deal partnership

May 2022

The Social and Economic Council of the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao (SER) has joined the Global Deal partnership. SER is an independent consultative body that provides advice to the government and the parliament on socio-economic issues with the aim of generating inclusive welfare and reducing inequalities. SER plays a key role in reaching consensus for socio-economic policies as it serves as a dialogue platform for employers, workers and independent experts.

As part of their commitment to the Global Deal, SER will promote the partnership within their networks, both at national level, among partner trade unions and business organisations, as well as at international level among members of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS).
