Spain becomes partner number 100

22 November 2018 - This morning, Spain became the 100th partner to associate to the Global Deal partnership. In the presence of OECD's Secretary General Angel Gurría, Swedish Minister for Employment and Integration Ylva Johansson, as well as business and union representatives, Spain´s Minister of Labour, Migrations and Social Security Magdalena Valerio expressed her Government´s support to the Global Deal. This makes Spain not only the 100th partner, but also the 20th government, to join the global partnership which gathers governments, private sector actors, trade unions and other organisations to jointly address the challenges in the global labour market.

In connection with joining the Global Deal, Spain has made a voluntary commitment to work for strengthened labour law in the country and an improved working environment. Spain has also expressed a goal to rebuild labour law, which was weakened during the financial crisis.
