30 June 2021 - The Global Deal thematic brief “Social Dialogue for the Transition from the Informal to the Formal Economy” is now available in French and Spanish.
The brief – first published in 2020 – demonstrates how social dialogue, involving governments and representative employers’ and workers’ organizations, has contributed to the transition to formality and the reduction of decent work deficits in the informal economy.
By providing concrete examples from around the world, the brief underlines the vital role that social dialogue can play in effectively supporting a progressive transition to the formal economy, in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the relevant International Labour Standards.
