Almost a year has passed since the successful launch of the ‘Global Deal for Decent Work and Inclusive Growth’. Some 40 partners have joined the partnership – to work for enhanced social dialogue and sound industrial relations as a means of promoting decent work and quality jobs.
The launch of the Global Deal last year marked the starting point for efforts that have now entered an intensive phase. In addition to the voluntary commitments of individual partners, studies, seminars, and other capacity-building and experience-sharing activities are under way. To take stock of progress and pave the way for further efforts, a high-level follow-up meeting will take place in New York on 18 September, from 17.30 to 18.30, at the Convene Conference Centre, 730 Third Avenue. The meeting will be held in the margins of the UN General Assembly, as a session of the World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Development Impact Summit 2017.
